We'll update as we go...

October 10, 2004: Garage door installed! Finished!

September 29, 2004: Sorry we haven't updated in a while. Debbie's been so busy making log siding that she hasn't been over to take photos! We're almost done with this beautiful log home. The loft floors are gorgeous! They're white pine, sanded and varnished. All of the light fixtures are in place and the remainder of the finishing touches are being done this week, so we hope to have a few more pictures to show by this weekend!

July 18, 2004: A lot of interior work is going on. Insulation is installed and drywall has begun. The home will have log siding on the gable stud walls and drywall on all other stud walls.

June 2004: Sorry we haven't updated this page for a couple months! A lot of work has happened since the roof was installed. It was a challenge to get the loft flooring installed. The supplier kept sending us poor quality material and we sent it back five times before we finally hired a second company to mill the flooring of the quality we needed. Electric, plumbing and hvac rough-in is complete. Much of the log siding has been installed. Doors and windows are installed, and the decks are almost complete.

March 2004: The roof is installed. Inside work has begun.

February 24, 2004: This home will have a metal roof. A metal roofing sub-contractor will install the metal roofing after we complete the roof structure.

February 20, 2004: We've been working hard this past month to install the beams, build the garage and roof structure. Many days were below 10 degrees with lots of snow and ice!

January 5-16, 2004: Log walls up!

December 19-31, 2003: Happy Holidays!

December 11-18, 2003: We've been working on the log walls. This home is going to be so beautiful!

December 9 & 10, 2003: Rain & Snow!

December 8, 2003: Set first log! You can clearly see the all-thread rods in the picture on the right. The rods run from the bottom to the top of the log walls, and hold the logs tightly together.

December 3-5, 2003: mill logs.

December 1, 2003: subfloor.

November 25 - 28, 2003: set beam, floor joists.

November 17-21, 2003: build basement walls.

Here's what the home should look like when complete.
